About the GEC Electric:

1928 General Electric shunting locomotive.

Technical Specs:

This vehicle is fitted with 2 DC traction motors and built to run on an operating voltage of 550 volts. DC is fed from an overhead line and speed is controlled through an 8-setting, series-parallel resistance controller with the resistors mounted under the chassis.

History:

It was used at West Auckland Road Chemical Works by the Chemical and Insulation Company to deliver loaded wagons to the main line.
